FAEE Fatty Acid Ethyl Ester Standards

The Esterification of Fatty Acids is an important tool for both characterising fats and oils and for determining the total fat content in foods and foodstuffs. It is also an important technique for assessing the quality and purity of biofuels.  It is usually methanol that is used in the transesterification process to produce FAME's, but ethanol may be used. In this case it is Fatty Acid Ethyl Esters (FAEE's) that are produced. Both classes of products are usually measured using Gas Chromatography (GC). Reagecon offers several FAME and FAEE individual compounds and mixtures that are used to Calibrate GC Instruments or as Quality Control Materials.
