Reagecon Chemical Standards and Reagents

Reagecon are happy to announce that we have taken on four students for work experience placements for a 6 month period.

This is the third year we have taken on students from GMIT as part of their Degree program. For the sixth year in a row we are also taking part in the Leonardo Program which gives international students the opportunity to learn English and gain relevant work experience. This experience gives these students a real opportunity to gain valuable experience to bridge the gap between study and the beginning of their working lives.

Reagecon's Technical Director John O’Keeffe has just been elected a committee member of the American Society of Testing and Measuring (ASTM) for the physical characteristics and testing of oils. This is a great honour for Reagecon and John hopes that his experience and expertise in Chemical Metrology will bring great value to the work of the ASTM. Reagecon are happy to be taking part in Job Bridge, a new National Internship Scheme that provides work experience placements for interns for a 6 month or 9 month period. The aim of the National Internship Scheme is to assist in breaking the cycle where jobseekers are unable to get a job without experience, either as new entrants to the labour market after education or training or as unemployed workers wishing to learn new skills. The scheme also gives young people a real opportunity to gain valuable experience to bridge the gap between study and the beginning of their working lives. Reagecon was represented this month in Barcelona at the EXPOQUIMIA exhibition by Spanish Distributor Cymit Quimica. Expoquimia claims to be the leading event for the chemistry sector in southern Europe with Exhibitors and speakers from around the world.This exhibition had particular emphasis on the science of chemistry with an ambitious programme of conferences, seminars and other activities.Expoquimia brings together internationally renowned entrepreneurs, scientists, technical experts and specialists, who cover the sector's most relevant topics in a full programme of value-added activities and workshops which serves as a starting point for research and constructive debate.
